Interesting new piece of kit https://www.bluettipower.co.uk/products ... f=naviMenu
Basically, its a UPS for a fridge. Automatically kicks in when the mains drops. Not cheap though.
Bluetti Fridge Power

Was looking at these and the expansion batteries:

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Bit the bullet and just ordered one to start with.

£1000 !!
The contents of my fridge freezer (that would spoil) are probably only worth £200 and I've just been to Sainsburys.

Re: Bluetti Fridge Power
So one powercut at yours and the price is now £800?

Re: Bluetti Fridge Power
I was eyeing up a standard Ecoflow Delta3 or an Anker Solix with the idea that I could use it to cool the freezer back down on an intermittent basis and recharge it using the shed solar. The 1000wH size all seem to be a little over £400 at present. But I also came to the same conclusion as Korolev about the value of the fridge/freezer contents which had me wondering if I really need this. I am trying to decide what I would actually use it for beyond keeping a fridge alive.
I am assuming my biggest risk this year will be 3 hour rolling power cuts like the ones in the 70s. As long as the freezer can get a couple of hours of power every 24 hours it would be fine anyway.
I already plan to pickle anything I can in the fridge/freezer in vinegar or cure the meat in salt if things do defrost. I also have a DIY option using a battery and inverter but this has to be lugged upstairs from the shed charging station.

Re: Bluetti Fridge Power
Unless your shed is 50m from the house leave the battery and inverter in there and pull an extension lead into the house
My plan shtf is to reverse my sheds wire plug a socket on the wire in the kitchen and use that to run the fridge / freezer at least as a few days buffer for using up / preserving what we can
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong
Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

Re: Bluetti Fridge Power
An extension lead would have to come out of the kitchen window and navigate the downstairs neighbour's back garden without being in the way so not as easy as just chucking the plug out the window but I think we could make it work. Thanks for pointing that out.
Re: Bluetti Fridge Power
I'd be using mine to keep me alive.
The insulin I use needs to be refrigerated
And the Jellybabies and full fat coke if I hypo....
Food and icecubes are just a bonus
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Re: Bluetti Fridge Power
And the gin to go with the ice cubes?
Might be worth looking at a decent surge suppression system in your consumer unit if you haven't already
