Hello from Paisley

Post by Jon034ER »

Hello everybody.

I'm completely new to prepping. I've realised it's time to take some precautions in the event of a problem which frankly seems to get more likely by the day.

I'm here to learn the basics.

Hi and Welcome.

Are you wanting to prep for a specific problem or more generally?

Hi from Manchester. Prepping is easy to get into. Most people on here will give you similar advice to get started. Next time you go to the shops, buy an extra tin of beans or whatever, and stick it at the back of the cupboard. You have commenced your prepping journey, at zero cost, as you will eat them before the BBE date. They should be good for a year or two.

Next priority is to store some drinking water. This is a bit more technical. You can buy bottled water from the supermarket, or buy a container and fill it. You need a bit of knowledge for that. I can tell you how I do it. Obviously you'd want a food grade container. Avoid 25 litres as they are heavy and hard to find places to store. 10 is good, and 5 should go in places like under a bed. You need to keep water away from light. I put bin bags over mine.
