what do you crave?

Post by dizzydays »

In a similar manner to the winter health box, it might be worth thinking back to when you've been ill, and what you really wanted but didn't have in stock.
Fr'instance, I never buy soft / fizzy drinks - I like my tea thanks, but each time I've been ill I've craved lemonade or something fizzy. Probably just dehydration or sugar cravings but I always forget it until the next time comes around and I remember I forgot to buy it, again.
Friend of mine had to have blueberries after an asthma attack - odd but caused her mum a bit of bother a few times.
Then there's chicken soup - lovely, but a right pain if there's none in the house and you're struggling with flu....

If I get ill, I don't eat, I drink a lot of water, tried lucozade before but does not seem to help. I'm on a health kick at the moment (last five months) I miss my fresh baked sourdough bread, as I make a lot of pumpkin soup this time of year and its not the same with out bread, but I respect bread is just useless calories and carbs, but the craving is there, I just don't give into it.

The only thing I ever crave when I'm ill is Hienz Tomato soup (other brands are available) ;)

I think the jury's done an about turn on that one. :) Bread is again considered healthy, it's what you put on it that could be the problem. Imo, you should keep enjoying your sourdough!

Yep me too. Heinz (gotta be Heinz) tomato soup. And mashed potato. And mint Aero.

The first two I'm pretty much sorted for. But I can't keep mint Aero in the house - it would last about two minutes...

Soda - almost any kind, but not orange which is usually too sweet over here. I am so thankful I've learned how to make homemade sodas - as long as I have yeast, sugar, flavoring and water (and a 2 liter bottle) I'm good!

After a migraine I often desire a lot of carbohydrates, and spaghetti hoops on toast often seems like the right thing.
