This may be useful as a deterent you use a hallf sized 12g blank shell which you can buy without needing a lisence and is set to go off using a trip wire. This is legal as it only using blank shells.

I really like stuff like this. Hopefully an intruder will kack his pants and run off, or better still have a coronary on the spot.

Great bits of kit, I had a convertor made so it also fires 9mm blanks, you need to get the center-fire rimmed rounds though.
If you know an engineering works or hobby machinist they might make one for you from a bit of appropriately sized copper of brass bar.
They used to sell mini-flares for these as well, but I haven't seen them for a long time.

pochers use to use them with full shells but were banned
but these are allowed because you can only fit the blanks in
