Now I have some more free time, I can get my arse in gear and start stocking-up on some more tinned/dried food items for the winter. I expect this winter will be as bad if not *worse* than the last, so am preparing to be snowed-in, disrupted supply chains etc.

A most rewarding trip to Asda today. Stocked up a whole load of canned goods, a tray of pasta sauce jars and a big bag of pasta. Total came to £24 for a whole, shallow, trolley full and I reckon it would last the four of us for near two weeks. Meals might be a bit odd but better than being hungry :)

Taken with the amount of food we have in the house as normal I think we should be good for four people for a month.

Next stage is to expand it so as my sisters family can move in if needed. They don't live far away and as I could never even suggest prepping to them without incurring protracted mickey taking I want to be able to take them in without worrying. If they did move over that would be 6 adults, 1 toddler, 1 baby (due January) and 4 dogs...

Still, feel a lot more secure now than I did yesterday ;)

Picking up a mobile gas fire on the weekend, getting it for a "small donation" to a local charity. comes complete with a bottle of gas, and will be useful if we have a cold spot in the house.

Also got a gas lantern from EBay, £10.50 complete with hose and regulator; small bottle of gas is in the shed awaiting the lantern. One 19Kg bottle should last about 80 days of normal use. With a bit of adaption it might be able to be permanently fixed in a suitable position.

Done my first prepper shop in Asda stocking up on tinned soup, rice pasta etc.
Fed my bees their sugar syrup so they will have enough stores to over winter the little preppers!
Looking forward to the weekend and cleaning up the garden, repairing my chicken coop, turning the clay soil so the frost can help to break it down. Will also be planning what seeds to propogate for the start of next year and ordering any hive parts needed for the new season.

Had a delivery of some Rat Packs and medical supplies :D

Started the Yule Stocks, so the cost doesn't hit us all at once.

36l of bottled water at a good price and BB Nov 2013.
Got chlorine tablets and neutralising tablets for another 72l.
Once I get a Berkey I'm sorted on the home water front.
