Hi from the Highlands

Post by Mojosik »

Hi all, have to be honest, I'd never heard of preppers until just last week, but as soon as I was aware of the movement i immediately felt a kinship. At the minute I havent started prepping as such, but my family have been trying to go down the self-sufficiency route (although it's a slow process). We are lucky that we live rural and have access to land, was lucky enough to be given a commercial poly tunnel(not quite completed yet, story of my life) which we're planning to grow all our own veg and soft fruits and are intending to keep as many edible animals as possible purely for our own consumption, although a pine martin got all my hens last week so need to get more :x . I always wanted to build up stores of food for whatever may happen but it always seems a monumental task to research on your own. However now I've got all of you like minded preppers close by i think it'll be a lot easier to motivate myself.

looking forward to moving forward

cheers, i'm gonna take it easy, and just ease myself into it. Its just now that I'm thinking along these lines, so many thoughts and ideas go through your head, pretty exciting to be honest :)

Welcome. Don't worry that you haven't managed to stock pile food yet, it's a slow process and I don't know if anyone on here has the perfect 1 year supply either. Get a couple cans extra every time you shop and quite soon you'll have your cupboards full.
