blackberry phones

Post by counsellor »

Hi everyone with a blackberry
Just a little something I heard the other day
You know that they are meant to be secure and all that ………
Well I have been lead to believe that the reason the net-work was down was because GCHQ have been installing software in the system so that they can now listen in
Maybe, maybe not

I think its safest to assume any electronic communication can be intercepted given the skills and equipment.

Hmmm. There's some very strong encryption around these days, so I'm not so sure. Hard to say who's winning - then encoders or the decoders...

On a similar note, I keep my confidential files encrypted with Truecrypt, on my desktop and laptop. Claims to be pretty secure.

I just said its probably safest to assume that any electronic communications aren't secure. Not saying that all comms are vulnerable at all, just don't assume that because its encrypted its safe.

Of course there are some very strong encryption methods, but if the implementation is weak, or you choose a crappy dictionary word encryption key then your 'secure' data isn't so secure.

Interesting thoughts. It would make sense after the riots etc. Blackberry messenger is ideal for spreading stuff due to the broadcast function.

Unless you're using encryption then the US and UK governments can deffinatley intercept your telephone calls, emails, texts, BBM, Ping Chat etc

Strange as it may seem they were having trouble with VOIP systems such as Skype, but the NSA offered Billions in rewards for any solution that could hack into the system, it's widely thought that ebay (who own Skype) has simply taken the money and turned over the keys to the system so to speak.
