What's the thinking behind the bay leaves if you don't mind my asking? Does it work well? Any 'tainting' flavour wise?

Bay repels insects. But I freeze flour as well.

Thanks for the tips about the flour, as soon as I have some room in freezer with thow it in for a bit, and of course checked cupboards and no bayleaves, just the empty tub I had put back for some reason, so thinks Scrooge will be popping into SM tomorrow.
