I finally got a copy the other week, having first ordered it months ago and never receiving anything, so having paid for the book twice, I thought ‘this better be good’ and all in all I wasn’t disappointed.

I had to laugh at the main character, obsessed with ‘peak oil’ for years to the point it’d affected his marriage and yet was still completely ‘un-prepared’. Still sitting in his little office in his suburban semi, a few miles from central London..I think we've all come across people like that.

I'm half way through this book and I'd like to say that the reaction of "hoodies and thugs " in rioting and doing what they want when they realise that they can get away with it is an over exaggeration..... however as I have lived within such communities in bradford(west yorks) and berkshire I know only too well that this is exactly what the teens will be doing. I'm working class and know only too well how kids today treat people.. Damn I'm scared!

I've managed to get Afterlight but not Last light yet, do you need to read them in order or are they independent stories?
