Curried ravioli? Interesting idea!

Of course you can survive on crap food, but why put yourself through the extra stress. If its all you've got then you'll eat it but surely its better to enjoy something rather than just suffer it... After tshtf dinner might be the only thing to look forward too.

During the days when I still ate wheat (prior to the allergy), I have done that. You can curry anything. If you have been a student and lived off tesco value baked beans and tesco value bread, you will realize that dunking the bread in soup (made from some value vegetable stock) that has been curried or chillied or currying the beans can be mentally speaking, a life saver.

IMHO stocking up on spices is essential for ones culinary sanity.

I get both Itsys and Fishs points.

Because im in rotation, if ts "does not" htf then when the bbe date is up on my ravioli in early 2015 i will have to eat it then replace, so i can see the point in storing likeable grub (no point in throwing away 3 trays of stored food that you dont like), but if the ts "does" htf it would not matter what it tasted like to me, i would eat it and be happy, also dutch has a good point with the spice theory, i think i may just start to add garlic salt to my prep cupboard :D

Anyone noticed how tap water tastes like the sweetest wine when you have a hangover?

I am sure even the tinned food you lot would call "yucky" would taste like the sweetest steak when you come to eat it post event.

We use continuous rotation of our tinned stuffs, not much point buying stuff then leaving it on the shelves for years around here, we buyt what we eat and most definately eat what we buy, why waste money and food by buying stuff you don't eat on a regular basis and will leave at the back of the shelf, sounds a pretty dumb idea to me and SWMBO.

Hopefully next year I'll get around to building that stock rotatind shelf unit for the larder room.

Even the tins rotate as they roll down so mix up the contents at the same time
