My brothrer-in-law works for Asda in-store bakery. He has just dropped off a perfectly good 1 gallon bucket with lid! I'll be getting one a week.
Always worth asking at these in-store bakeries. They are generally pretty helpful
PS. Asda bakery also gives away fresh yeast up to 100g!

our chip shop in town sells buckets off for a few pence,always washed and clean....so try asking at local chippy.

Hydrogenated fat is very not good for you. Stear clear of anywhere that uses it.
Great tip on the bakery buckets, I shall be down the local supermarket mythering the pants off them.
Do you just ask for the yeast? Seems a bit cheeky.

Bladerunner, if you just ask one of the Bakery staff they will get you some. I think it's one of those goodwill things. As long as you don't ask for loads, they're quite happy to let you have a few ounces.

My local ASDA are really friendly even down to the people on the tills. I often stop at the information desk and tell them how nice the staff are.
I am of the belief that most people only tend to mention staff when they are complaining so I go out of my way when staff are nice to make sure the management know their staff are appreciated.
I have had people on the bakery section offer to go and make up items if there are none on the shelves. I think it's nice for people to know that their helpfullness doesn't go unnoticed.
I shall definately be enquiring about the buckets. Thanks again.
