Mainly continue my efforts on stocking up on tinned food with long shelf life dates, and bottled water.

Will look into putting shelves up in my prep cupboard so everything has a place sort of thing.

Wouldn't mind investing in a gas portable camping stove. and a water butt for my back yard.

I am taking the inital baby steps. I have been raiding my neighbours recycling bins (with their permission) I have told them I am using it for a modelling project and the kids want the lids for school as they trade them in for extra funds as they haven't been emptied over Christmas for clear "Coke" type plastic bottles (2Ltr) for water storage and looking at a camping gas cooker, etc. as my household cooking is all electric. I will be having a wander around a nearby large town (Stockport) during the week as my ex has the kids for a week. I usually have them full-time,she is bringing them home on Friday. So I have a few days of gathering little essentials and putting them away, preserving OPSEC out of the prying/questioning eyes of the kids.

I'm planning on buying more freeze dried food, chicken and mince to be more precise, I have enough dehydrated veg, but need the protein to balance the stocks. Tinned meat here in Denmark is terrible!

I intend to buy:
reusable canning lids from Tattler,
a small wood burning stove from http://www.windysmithy.co.uk/html/woodburners.htm
an electric tricycle (I'm tired of icy roads)
winter tyres for tricycle "
2 IBCs for water harvesting
pallet frames to use as raised beds (getting them free, but will give a present)

I intend to learn:
more about essential oils
to make flat breads and crisp breads
how to graft fruit trees

I intend to make:
simple slippers , (felt, leather, inner tubes)
knit fingerless gloves
make Christmas presents (early to think of that, I know, but I am a prepper :) )

@jean
my wife knows couple people on a hippy forum that deal in woodburners,
one buys an sells the other fabricates them ,dont know if they are cheaper.
the fabricator has travelled to france before now buying stoves and nick nacks.

Jean405 - where are you buying your Tatler lids from? I haven't found too many places willing to ship to the UK.

Would you be interested in a group buy ? (no problems if not, but sometimes it saves on postage)

This year I hope to:

Learn to use my springer air rifle more accurately

Possibly get an FAC and a rifle of some sort.

Learn to use our hand held radios that we bought.

Declutter, tidy/organise and work on the house both for our sake and in case we can move house.

Build more relationships with other preppers.

Continue to learn gardening.

Learn some cheesemaking.

Raise and train the dog we're getting.

Improve my health.

Just continue learning as and when I can! I know I'm forgetting some things, but oh well...

Hi Moocher, do you have a web address for the woodburners? I really like the look of windysmithy's, and they are small enough to move, in a bug out situation, and look sturdier than frontier stoves I've seen. We have wonderful Morsø stoves here in Denmark, but they cost an arm and a leg, and are big and heavy. :)
