The Moneyless Man: a Year of Freeconomic Living

Post by itsybitsy »

I bought the Kindle version of this yesterday and have already read about a third of it. I'm completely hooked! So much so that I am going to get the h/c edition too. If anyone hasn't read it I highly recommend it. Mark Boyle, former businessman and founder of the Freeconomy Community, decides to see if he can live a year without money, as a social experiment. He gives up his home, his job, his entire way of life - and lives off grid in a caravan that he got off freecycle! It's a great read so far - not too heavy, but insightful, interesting, educational (well, for me anyway) and actually very funny!

True story - he did it in 2009.

I bought the Kindle edition off Amazon for £5.72.

I enjoyed it too. Makes you realise how wasteful we are, when you understand what can be done without.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.
