Re: Ultimate survival long lasting Boots
Ramsden George,
Ive clicked the link and taken a look at the boots, what use do you intend to get out of the boots if you dont mind me asking?
Only reason I ask is that I learnt from various people including members on here that when it comes to decent footwear you need to spend the money, even if it means saving for a decent pair as a decent footwear are worth their weight in gold.
I dont know what other's view's are on these and different people will have different recommendations but if the boots you posted are for everyday use, to be honest they look a bit heavy and impractical.
Some people on here prefer hiking/walking boots, I myself after having a pair of Lowa Mountain GTX boots for christmas prefer these type of boots(Similar manufacturers to look at for these type of boot are Altberg/Danner/Hiax Etc)

Re: Ultimate survival long lasting Boots
read the reviews ---- Excellent Boot whether your working on a construction site, messing about in the hills and mountains, working in the garden or walking the dog. Strong construction yet remarkably light, if walking or following outside pursuits it feels like your walking on air, very comfortable and very supportive on the foot, best boots Ive ever owned. Despatched and delivered within 24 hours, free delivery. Highly recomended, thanks.

Re: Ultimate survival long lasting Boots
bit further down JB writes
The steel toe caps might be good for giving a good kick into someones family jewels or similar, but the cost is a less flexible toe end to the boot.
I might be tempted to try them for other tasks though.
Personal choice is the big thing, They might be good for one thing but not for others, I like to know that my boots will be good when climbing and abseiling as well as walking, or wading in a river or long distance walking over varying terrains. This is a very good quality safety boot. It is light and strong and warm. It is of leather outer construction. It has a steel toe cap which is not described in the product description. It has a high leg and provides good lower leg protection for logging and chain saw work. The boot is very stiff so it is unsuitable for driving.I suspect it would be unsuitable and possibly uncomfortable for walking any distance, it is a safety boot designed to give maximum protection at the expense of flexibility.
Thanks for reading me

Re: Ultimate survival long lasting Boots
I agree with gnole, it is personal preference and as the commenter states, walking in these may be difficult. Best thing to do is try em, they'll have a use but for long distance (say bugging out) you might look to some dedicated walking boots or some good leather army boots.

Re: Ultimate survival long lasting Boots
i think their a bit heavy and cumbersome, and i speak as someone who lived and died in ex army boots for nearly 30 years, these days i prefer a decent walking boot- a bit more flexible and lighter weight.

Re: Got my New Boots
They look ok, me personally wouldnt get them as im a big fan of army boots. i wear steel toe cap boots nearly every day at work and from experience after a while i get jip from the boot as the toe cant flex properly. steel toes are great for work but i wouldnt use them for walking, as long as you like the boots and maintain them you should be fine, look after your boots and they will look after you.

Re: Got my New Boots
As previously posted, they will have it's use but probably not for bugging out - camping, dog walking, work, will be ideal for these. They look pretty good though
As for steel toe caps - I remember when on an army mission I had my own steel toe cap boots on and when in the woods at -16 C (and that was on a thermometer in the city centre) the steel added to the freezing temperature and it felt like having feet in ice cold water. Don't recommend for winter.
