Its packed in a curry cream sauce and the best before date is 02/16 (grilled on toast this is AMAZING). All my tinned goods are packed in plastic storage boxes with the dates clearly written in permenant marker, it's quite a good feeling seeing that fish next to all the other goods that run out in 2012/2013.
What Preps are you doing this week

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Well I'm a firm believer in the power of curry to cover up any iffy flavours but a creamy korma sauce aint gonna mask some dodgy fish.....
I think I'll stick to the cple of tins of vegetable curry I put into the stores today, along with a cple bottles of mouthwash that was on offer in tesco, some more candles....more beans
and then I got on the interweb and tracked down some calcium carbonate and some 99% alcohol to make some smokeless fuel gel - the video that ND posted was ace and just what I was looking for - cheers

I can not believe you people (discounting you 'pseudonym' I'm guessing youre on side) this stuff is delicious. Under the grill, on a slice of toast, yum yum yum...
When you see me next, on masterchef, serving this fine delicacy up, you'll be sorry you ever mocked the fish in curry sauce.

Dug up the leeks today. Left some for a couple of neighbours who don't grow veg but know I'm kind of 'different' that way, having dug up the back grass to create a veg patch. Also left some with another neighbour who does 'get it' (TEOTWAWKI, peak oil etc.). That neighbour gave me a load of chopped up parsnips from her friend's allotment with a request to turn into wine.....started it up, see what it's like in 6 months!
Sometimes small gestures to neighbours can pay dividends in return, or at least it can start conversations which in time may bring them round to a different way of thinking.
Alternativly, WTSHTF they may be the first in my garden with a spade & fork helping themselves!!!

Re: What Preps are you doing this week
After reading 7ps post about the long shelf life on tinned fish, thought id take a look.
Went to Tescos tonight for a prep shopping trip only, had a spare £10 from xmas and dont need any shopping myself so thought id see what i can top my prep cupboard up with.
Got a 4 pack of john west tuna half price at £3.49 with a date of june 2016 on.
A half price tin of premium ham, the pear shaped tin, 2015
2 tins hot dogs 2015
2 beans 2014
2 meatballs 2015
and get this.... 2 jars of breakfast marmalade, 27p each, 2014
and still got over £2 change

I love the fish in mustard sauce, brilliant on toast warmed under the grill, YUMMY!!!
I picked up some stuff for the BoB from Clas Ohlson, amazing whatyou can find in there. Got some emergeny light sticks, small fishing kit, some LED touch lights for around the house and some fire hooks for suspending stuff.
This weekend I am going to add some more food stocks, and finish up a design I have been working on, will start another post on that one
