Not comfortable? I think it really depends on the person.... I don't find the paper and plastic ones comfortable, but I wouldn't knock them if I hadn't tried them. You ladies must be much more sensitive than I am though, because despite finding the commercial disposable ones uncomfortable I don't think my nether regions could really, truly, honestly discern the difference between cloth (some of the cloth pads are made of terry after all) and a smooth knitted cotton one. And if that is all that was available, a knitted one sure beats a wadge of moss in the undies (yeah oK I am knocking that not having tried it. Might be wonderful, but ...)

As to stretching - depends on the yarn and how it's knit. also we are not talking oceans here - even for us heavy-flow gals. Knitted ones used to be used all the time.

I use cotton knitted dishcloths all the time- they don't really distort that much.

I don't think all suggestions will work equally well for all women but I want to have as many options as possible.

And, it was a bit of a leg-pull for Nick anyway - wasn't really suggesting he make them.

Ummm..... Yeah well... Well it's not something I have to stock up on for the forseeable future, only me and my lad here, but honestly not something I'd even considered so all information duly noted and ready to be passed on should the need arise. :)

Us fellas do have it pretty easy in some respects. Just hoping I don't have nightmares about turning into a hillbilly woman and having to use some of those 'things'. :o
