Tesco currently have 20kg bags of 'broken basmati rice' for £9. Doubt the broken part makes any difference and as far as I'm concerned rice is rice... Easy way to put a stock in anyway

We usually buy the 5kg bag of basics rice for £4.. so 20kg for £9 is a bargain!

The Tesco value rice can be had at 40p per Kg which works out at £8 for 20 Kg, you do have to get lucky though, it flips between 40p and 60p so when its low, I pick up a few bags.

Had a look at this late last year. On closer inspection it seemed to be a rice flour, used in the production of chippaties (s).

They only had one bag in my local, so I walked across the shop and back to compare prices before discovering this. Of course

Tesco's Basics long grain rice is currently 40p a kilo. That's £8.00 for 20kg. And it's unbroken.

Rice is relatively cheap ,at the moment. A threequarter pint measure is enough to feed 4 hungry adults in my house. That makes a kilo of rice a LOT of food-and cheap. And easy to store.
