2012 weekly challenge or prep.

Post by preppingsu »

To get myself more organised I have decided to do something each week of 2012 to improve my preps, hopefully without spending too much money. This may be something as simple as renewing some of my water storage and cleaning bottles, doing something in the garden or, if finances allow, buying something to add to preps.
I have chosen to look at weekly as it seems more acheiveable and then at least it feels like I'm doing something. If anyone would like to join me in this then great. Mutual support is what keeps us going!!!!!

Week One (1st-8th Jan)
- renew 10l of water (clean bottle and date).
- do some garden maintenance.
- start to plan what to grow and where.

Great Idea, inspired me to sit down and start a year plan, so thank you.

So Week 1's plan here is;

To add another 40 litres to our water supplies.
Complete Gas Bottle, Log Burner.
Build a storage rack to house our growing food supplies.

More updates as the weeks and my planning progresses

Next week.

I must clean out my under the stairs cupboard, take non wanted items to the tip, then I can move a flat packed chicken coop out of my prepping cupboard and into the under the stairs, this giving me a hell of a lot more room in my prepping cupboard.

If I can get this done next week, then I can prepare shelving and really get organised and sorted in my prepping cupboard.

oops, a bit late for this week: 16-22 Jan.

- continue with replacing water in stored bottles ( did more than the amount stated last week)
- didn't manage to buy LED push on lights so will do that.
- continue to clear garden area for wood oven and BBQ
- finalise plans for pigs
- declutter box room to make space for more preps
- work as much as I can to pay for preps!!!!! (which means I won't have much time to do the above  :D )

Another 10 litres of water added to stores
5 Tins of cheese
5 Tins of marge
6 Kg of pasta
3 jars of pesto all added to larder

all from last week as I forgot to post lol

This weeks plan is to get rid of the tumble dryer as we dont use it (saves on elc bill too) and replace it with a brand new larder to store our growing food stores.

Have just ordered 16 more butane cans for the stoves/heater as well
