Afternoon All,
Whilst ordering some food stocks in today, I took one look at the unorganised clutter that the SO calls the tin cupboard wondering what happened to the organisation that I created a while back.
Anyhow whilst browsing the net, I've been looking for plans for can rotation however the idea's that were out there well puzzled me on how I could create one, low and behold whilst scouring i came across this site http://www.ldsfoodstorage.co.uk/index.htm and bang straight on the front page was a self assembly all the bits can rotation unit.
Anyways I shall be ordering one or two of the rotation units and will do a little write up of them accordingly.
Many Thanks
CG
Food Cupboard Rotation

Hi CG
There was a thread about these on one of the other Prepper boards I'm a member of.
This quote from a member may make you think a little

Re: Food Cupboard Rotation
Looks okay, bit pricey for a few pieces of MDF. I will be posting an update to my can storage plans with something similar.
Re: Food Cupboard Rotation
If you look on http://www.instructables.com you will see plans on how to make a food rotation shelf.
The LDS or Mormons won't rip you off. So I wouldn't worry about that.
Wifey and I sorted out our cupbaord about 3 weeks ago and we decided to put labels on each can/jar with the sell by/use by dates on them. Makes them so much easier to spot the oldest and therefore eat/rotate them. We are now eating stuff from 2009. Mostly jars of sauces, if the lid is still depressed, i don't have a problem using them up.
Be lucky (and Campylobacter Jejuni free)

Re: Food Cupboard Rotation
i thought tin rotation was just common sense, we put the newly bought tins at the back, the older ones are at the front and get eaten first
Re: Food Cupboard Rotation
Then obviously your cupboards aren't as full as ours. Trying to get at the back of my cupboard was considered by ITV for a game on The Krypton Factor but they decided it was too hard for anyone with an IQ of less than 137 and less than 3 hours on their hands.bulldogeagle wrote:i thought tin rotation was just common sense, we put the newly bought tins at the back, the older ones are at the front and get eaten first

It may be me being over cautious, but just because it says LDS it doesn't mean it's part of the Mormon Church.
Compare the orignal website with This one which is the main shopping site of the LDS.
There is also No ickle icon in the address bar at the top of the page.
Sorry but it just doesn't feel "right"
I am willing to be proved wrong

Re: Food Cupboard Rotation
our larder is full!, full!full! -wife is always complaining "there is no more room!" i reckon we've got enough food for 6 months which in a very small modern semi detached 2 bed house is quite an accomplishment!Bladerunner wrote:Then obviously your cupboards aren't as full as ours. Re: Food Cupboard Rotation
Feed back from the member of the other site who had placed an order for this.....

Just as a heads up.No emails, no phone calls and no sign of it turning up
My advice as it stands would be not to order one from this supplier.
I have now opened a PayPal dispute so should get the money back at least. Shame because it looks like a nice product
