Where do you buy your wheat from?

Thinking about low moisture wheat for longer term storage. Can someone point me in the direction of a good on-line supplier please?

Brow farm seems to be one of the best, or wait until summertime and find a local farmer, it might not be the best "bread flour" but worth trying as the choices could be less come a breakdown.

2 weeks ago i brought 6 x 25kgs bags of wheat for £6.50 a bag
dryed to less than 14% moisture with 12-13.5% protein and its class 2 milling wheat

just waiting for my extras large mylar bags to turn up 20" x 30", i already have the plastic containers waiting

I have found that my local Indian store carries whole hard wheat in one and five kilo bags. Much cheaper than Brow farm.

I buy mine from the farmer whose fields abut our back garden. He goes to our church. I get both "soft" biscuit and "hard" biscuit wheat from him. He doesn't mind me getting extra to sell on to other interested parties. Last fall a (new) bucket, filled with wheat - 35 - 36 lbs or so, cost around £6.50.

The bucket was a large part of the cost, tbh. I buy the buckets from Ampulla.

The 35 lbs of wheat only cost around 2.75 or so. He sells it to me wholesale price.

I'm willing to get more for others next harvest if anyone is interested.

Do you dry it out a bit or store it as it comes?

It is in the drying barns when we get it and I just seal my buckets up as we fill them. So far so good. I'd have no place to dry it anyway.

Hi, my first order was from Browfarm.co.uk, that costs 21.55£ for 20 kg, they also offer a 25 litre bucket with that for extra, and all together for 27£ with free delivery.
the wheat is very tasty, and good quality of bucket.

But today i placed another order for 50kg at Realfoods.co.uk. 13.87 per 25 kg with free delivery, which sounds much better than above.
dont know about quality of wheat yet, but it supposed to be ok.

also this one is the cheapest just 6£ per 25 kg

but that comes as poultry food, though on the image the wheat looks like normal wheat ))
plus you need to add delivery cost which is about 8-10 + so... I've chosen go for 13.87

apart from wheat i would advice to go for Pearl Barley , its a very nice, rich and healthy grain, very similar to wheat. In Tesco its 0.35£ for 500gr
