I didn't realize we were "preppers" until I saw the two recent articles on the Daily Mail site.
My wife and I live in Wiltshire. We are very fortunate in that our place is fairly secluded, down the end of a small dirt track and cannot be seen from the road. We have plenty of potential meat in the form of pheasant, pigeon, squirrel and bunny, and even deer if push came to shove. Over the last few years or so we have developed our veg patch from a few radishes to being able to supply at least some fresh veg for most of the year. We now have 10 various fruit trees. This year we are planting a mini vineyard as well as more fruit bushes.
We currently have a three month supply of food, toiletries and medicines, all catalogued to make it easier to rotate. After reading the articles in the DM, we have also added a couple of cases of freeze dried meals, about a months worth. I think our next target will be another month's supply of food and another couple of cases of FD food. BTW - we bought a sample pack of the 10 different main meals of Mountainhouse FD food. So, I can tell you which ones are edible, and which ones are more of a challenge.
My project for next month is to convert our generator to run on propane.
I found this site after googling "prepper forum"!
