Where do you get your antibiotics
Where does everybody get their antibiotics, post-shtf they are gonna be worth the owners weight in gold and with no proffesional medical treatment they shall be essential for everyday life, but where do you get them i struggle to trust online no prescription pharmacys and doctors dont give them away unless you actually need them. I have a very small batch that my collegues dad ( doctor ) got for me. But it wouldnt be enough to get you through the first year. Especially with a family. So tell me where do you get your antibiotics?

Re: Where do you get your antibiotics
Last time I needed anti-biotics was a good three years ago, before that was probably 30 years ago, so as a question why would I need them
I hear that Koi carp places have them as well.

Depending on the scenario that was the cause I would probably make a b line to a chemist with my copy of the BNF and clear the store of likely medications. But it wouldnt be enough to get you through the first year

Re: Where do you get your antibiotics
If you attend the 'Far From Help 2-day foundation training (includes medications) at http://wildernessmedicaltraining.co.uk/
You are then authorised to purchase medications/anti-biotics/pain relief etc for when you are in a non-UK environment expedition scenario to prescribe under their Doctors medical directors authority. The certificate lasts 3 years, it is not cheap but is a good course and teaches advanced first aid techniques such as emergency re-location of dislocations etc.
Recommended by I!

Hi J,
Yes, I have been on a couple of their Explorer courses, including the one I mentioned! I recommend it but I think having at the least a First aid at work certificate, possibly more than that to get the maxixmum benefit from them.
All the best,
TM

This has been brought into sharp focus over the past few days since the Erythromycin has kicked in to clear up some horrible dental pain! Now on my learning list will be finding out about alternatives to antibiotics...
