Credit Unions tend to pay higher interest than a High Street bank.

Finally sorted some financial stuff that should have been done a long time ago

Three safe investment funds created to save and make some future funds with the money now not being spent on mortgage and endowment and life assurance and income protection insurance from accident/injury/illness.

Next thing is Wills and ensuring our daughter is cared for should the worst happen.

Feel that something useful has been done tonight to make the future look a bit brighter.

This week we did a stock check, added a load of tinned fruit and rice pudding to our stocks, and ordered 3 * 220lt barrels from ebay.

Also, we planted 4 grapevines, 3 blackcurrant plants and 2 blackberry plants along 16meters of posts and wire. This year is a fruit year. We now have 1 cherry, 2 pear, 3 apple and two plum trees as well as 3 blueberry bushes and the new plants we just planted.

Bought some diesel Jerry Cans, will fill them ASAP and will cycle them every 3 months or so. This particular supply is designed to ensure that I will always have the ability to retrieve various family members from their far flung locations in the event the pumps run dry.

IMHO: I don't think it is quite so necessary to cycle diesel fuel every few of months- we have oil fired central heating and the oil (red diesel) works fine even after a year or so.

Petrol is far more vunerable to fuel oxidation and so should be 'used up' within a couple of months.
If you have more money than sense! (£13.50), rather than cycle you could use a fuel preservative

I keep a octane booster in my car just in case I get a tank of low octane fuel.
eg Redex.

Briggs & Stratton sell a reasonably priced stabiliser widely available on evilbay
eg

(not me)
It will keep your petrol good for up to 24 months (if your not a fan of diesel ) better than constantly rotating if you've got a larger volume

Alkylated petrol (Aspen 4T) will last a lot longer but is expensive (good option for coleman stoves)
