My name is scoops_uk, generally known as scoops but I've had the UK stuck on the end since my Bushcraft UK days and I'm kind of attached to it
My interest in survival started in the mid-80's when I was an avid reader of "Combat and Survival" magazine as a teenager. My primary interest has always been "survival" rather than bushcraft all though for a long time I hung around in bushcraft forum's because the internet US based version of "survival" bore little relation to what I was interested in which fits much better under the title of "prepping". For a long time I was very much an armchair prepper and didn't really do a lot to turn my thoughts and ideas into actual preps until I joined the Ludlow forum. I've been around on Ludlow for a good few years and I recognise a lot of names here, so "Hello"
My personal plans and take on prepping has a very nautical emphasis, I work as a boat builder (learning those skills was a prep) and I am a keen sailor so my plans are based around what I know. Not a bad idea.
I've recently moved to the South West from Yorkshire and live with my partner (fortunately she sails too!) and I'm married to my boat.
Anyway, hope that makes some sense as an intro. Looking forward to getting to know you all.
