A random question, but; does anyone have any opinion on an item to keep by the bed 'just in case'? The recycling bag we hang up in the cellar fell down last night, just after we fell asleep, and I went down to investigate thinking there may be a burglar.

I know this is a hot potatoe legally, so I wonder where you all stand?

I have a 4D maglite next to my bed to see when things go bump in the night. Very bright and heavy.

I quite enjoy playing cricket and take lots of care with my bat, so I dont leave it lying around just anywhere! The children have enjoyed martial arts in the past and we have a selection of Wooden weapons that I store in my bedroom. ;)

Maybe it's about time you took up baseball as a new hobby.

Yes, I keep a big, heavy torch under my bed. If there was a power failure I would need that in order to light the way downstairs.

I really appreciate the answers. I am thinking I was a bit OTT with what I had. I think the 6 cell is a good answer?
