New Car

Post by Slimslim »

Well need a bit of advice really, my current car got pretty much destroyed in its MOT today. Costs WAY outweigh keeping the car so I've decided that nows that time to invest in getting myself a decent 4x4. On a pretty tight budget as I'm still in the last couple of months of Uni but I've found a Vitara for a good price and good condition :D

Could anyone tell me their experiences of them? I will only be commuiting via motorway to Uni till May after that just locally.

Any help is much appreciated!

Why do you need a 4x4?are you a farmer or gamekeeper?

Wife has a Jimny, does what she wants it too, I have a Disco II :D , previous was a 110 CSW V8 :D and previous to that was a 109 Safari V8 :D , before that normal cars :( Most bigger 4 X 4s require a fuel tanker behind though.

Lots of good reasons for a 4 X 4, but these days it's just because I wanted one

My next car will be a 4x4 if money allows, probably something japanese. I did have a Frontera many years ago but it disintegrated into a big mound of rust :(

For a cheap option, my mate still has an old Daihatsu Fourtrak that he bought for peanuts many years ago and it is still going strong

I've always fancied a 4x4 myself to do a bit of greenlaning, and for just lugging stuff about!

Ive an old 4.L Jeep cherokee which i use on and off road for my dog and shooting plus great when it snows............Just bought a BMW X6 ..... Why i hear you ask...Coz i can

It looks great drives great goes like .... of a shovel and is 4x4 and as i do alot of back road driving where tractors are always dropping mud and making the roads slippy its very practical for me. Oh and its diesel. And before that 5.7 V8 Hemi Jeep, now that did require a petrol tanker to follow :!:

And wait for it...................

LMAO! Good on ya!

I was tentatively pondering an X3, but the cost of servicing and the other 'necessities' stopped me dead in my tracks. I'm now thinking about a Golf - which is definitely more in my price range!

My brother in law has an X6.. lovely car :)

Wouldn't be my first choice for a 4x4 though...motorway cruiser, most definitely!
