I came across your part of cyberspace whilst searching for more 'Prepping' TV shows after watching Doomsday Preppers & Doomsday Bunkers, it never occured to me there were Preppers in the UK.
I'm not sure I'm actually a Prepper but at the same age that most kids nowdays pick up games controllers I was out down the local chalk pit looking for treasure, making camps in the woods, exploring old abandoned houses to see if there really was a witch living there or building a raft to get down the river so I've always been an 'adventurous' kinda person.
As I grew older I got interested in Survival on various levels and later still became an 'Urban Explorer' travelling the country getting into and photographing old mental asylums, underground bunkers and tunnels, abandoned industrial sites, you name it.
I've always kept what I'd call a 'stock cupboard', my Mum did and her Mum before her, I reckon I could go a month without shopping and as a Chef in my later years (late 40s anyways), am well capable of knocking up something from nothing and hunting & gathering from the wild.
I've always loved watching post apocalyptic movies and survival type films/TV anything from Mad Max & 28 Days Later to A Cook on the Wild Side & Alone in the Wilderness, but this Prepping phenomenon is quite new to me, I think alot of the US shows are waaaay OTT but can see most of the reasoning.
Anyway enough rambling on, just thought I'd say Hi and have a look at what my 'saner' UK countrymen and women are doing to survive should it hit the proverbial fan.
