Just got my Black Widow today!!! Tried it out in the garden - briliant. Looking forward to heading up the farm with some proper ammo. Any tips for aiming? It seems quite accurate but I'm guessing as my practise ammo targets were only 15 feet away that it would have been hard for my to miss!!!

Added today (Saturday 10th March) Got 5 x 5 litre bottles of water, 3 x packs of anti-histamine, 4 x roll on deodorants, 2 x anti-bac gell and some femanine hygiene products for the OH. Sorted out the stores cupboard, made more space and used a Sharpie pen to mark the dates and contents on the tins. Sorted a shelf for medicines, first aid and hygience.

Now for a glass of wine!!

Yeah like my Slingshots as well. I have a Barnett Pro Diablo II like the one this cute person is holding!!

I have lost the site used for aiming but to be honest it never helped me much anyway.I did buy a better elastic for it which makes it even more fun. Enjoy yours.

Getting the solar panels out after the storms of the winter, gonna reseal them with mastic or similar silicone sealant, gonna make another panel to get my total wattage up near the 300 mark.

Increased my long term 'stash and forget' food store this week and added a 20l water filter to my options. Have to provide for two adults and three children so its been a bit of a lengthy process!

Over the last week or so I did my first ever prep! Every time I go to do my regular shopping, I add a little to go in my stores. So far I've got 1kg each of popcorn, rice, and pasta shapes, and a 2kg bag of porridge oats. Also got some hydration drink sachets, dextrose tabs, and some first aid supplies for my bob (antiseptic wipes, painkillers and plasters)

It's all under the bed at the minute :P

gloomsday, that's a good system - doing a bit of prepping with each week's shop. I wish I remembered to do that... Looks very carb-heavy though. Remember to add some meat, fruit and veg! ;)

Just bought some Miners Lettuce (Claytonia) seed.

I am greatly expanding my veggie garden this year and will need to convert a lot of what was previously turf into useable soil. Of course, this is a multi-year project and usually you don't get much of a crop until the turf composts down as the decomposition process consumes all the available nitrogen. There is not enough top soil to just remove the turf and compost it elsewhere.

So, Miners Lettuce - gives me an edible crop in the first year (if I need it) which is nice insurance, and is a very good green fertilizer. Also, unlike many green fertilizers (such as alfalfa which is just plain nasty as a weed) you can get rid of it in the subsequent years.

I will try my best! I've got my eye on some neat little pouches of pureed fruit for kids that are great for the stores as they're virtually flat - And only 45p!

And thanks TwoDo for reminding me I got some seeds a few weeks back too: Chantenay carrots and spinach beet - going to plant them on the patio in old fruit crates I swiped from the curb-side, can't be too intrusive as it's not my house! Gardening isn't exactly my strong suit, but I've grown both of these before and they are easy as pie - just bung em in the ground and wait!
