The Last Pilgrims

Post by preppingsu »

By Michael Bunker.
Just finished reading this. I enjoyed it. Written as if the collapse has happened and it is set 20 years in the future. The plot is based around a group of people not dissimilar to the amish so there are religious references, the militia who support and protect this group of people and the self appointed 'bad' rulers of other areas of the USA.

Lots of thoughts about simple living and doing this before the shtf. I will be revisiting this and thinking about what changes I can continue to make for a simpler life.

Thankyou for the reccomendation sue, thoroughly enjoyed it. Great plot and characters. Lot of religion but all relevant to the story and not preachy. Quite thought provoking in terms of morals and a couple of interesting practical ideas to dwell on.

Seems that bunker is certainly walking the wall himself though I can't decide if he's slipped over the edge to being a crazy. An ex dean from c of e, from what I can gather, he has moved to the us and now appears very similar to the Amish. That in itself doesn't discount him though. He has a big web presence with multiple blogs and a radio show/podcast so worth checking out. What I've read so far has been very informative. If you do check him out I'd value your input whether he's crazy or just astute..
