I use a brick maker and make about 300 paper bricks a year all in one go, it takes me about a week,I am retired so time is not an issue,we use them to back up the fire overnight, they work well! you cant use cardboard it just does not work, what I do is cut it up and make brick size bundles bound together with gardening string again time consuming but you do save a bob or two
