Thanks for the welcomes my (new) friends. I've been wanting to plan ahead for many years now but one thing or another has stopped me (either work or finances) but now I plan on making a real start to make sure my family is safe should the SHTF. My wife and I have contemplated turning a portion of our land into an allotment and buying a large polytunnel to help us grow our own veg for a while now and we plan on starting just after easter if we can get the land cleared of dilapidated sheds etc. We plan on getting our own chickens etc for a fresh egg supply and we've already started stocking up on foods etc. Anyway, i've babbled enough for now. I shall look forward to chatting to you all over the coming weeks, months and years.
