Much the same as a huge swath of the population unfortunately.

When SWMBOs Dad was killed in a car crash (Black ice and tree involved and no other driver) they did it through the vehicles registered owner, which was his boss, he had no form of ID.

I guess that if I was in my works van then they could use the ID I need for my job and is always in the van.

Chef,
Yep, I am afraid so. 8 per 1000 in UK, 5 per 1000 in USA (though they may sue for stepping on toes etc, worryingly), last statistics I read (if I can find them and it was a few years ago but that was BEFORE "where there blame there's a claim" mentality struck the UK.

As the emergency services no longer have 'Queen's immunity' it is open season. Good as it tightens efficiency, bad as money pay outs to errr certain types of individuals = more paperwork, less focus on catching baddies, healing the sick, putting out fires and generally higher taxes.

Oh well!

Apologies Chef!

There are good things going on! I think the majority of UK preppers don't focus on having Ak47s, AR15s, M16s, LSWs, SA80s etc,etc.....I think?

The worrying thing is that the money doesn't get paid out from any insurance policies in most cases it comes out of the NHS Budget in cases of medical "Negligence" or if the NHS finds it cheaper and simpler to just pay up rather than face months or years of litigation through the courts. Where there is "genuine" negligence then I don't have a problem with the perpetrator being sued, but some of the cases just seem so trivial; And it isn't just the NHS, schools sued for kids being hit with footballs will be next, might cause a nasty foot injury kicking one of those things

Nice one Chef. I like your style! Tally ho!

TG, yep, nowadays it is cheaper to settle a case than fight a case in the courts. I know a long list of outrages. :o

We kept getting cold calls about claiming for some accident that never happened, they were told a number of times that we weren't interested, still the calls came, what is that advice that I have heard about pest calls and whistles ;)

We went on the prefered callers thing after that, not had a problem since.

The street hasslers get a two word answer from us these days, the second one is generally "off" this came after being "hit" three times in under 200mtrs

When SWMBO got hit by a truck her insurance company dealt with personal injury stuff and all the other necessary for free (sort of)

That's odd gnole we keep getting them here to, I usually toy with them a bit, and do some random math that they wouldn't understand to some how turnit into there fault. Then say nice scam and hang up ;)
