To chef the house in cullivoe is on the edge of a thriving community with a shop post office school and all you could expect. It is the best of all worlds....remote but accessable.

Awesome, will just have to try and sell my dear old Mums place (gawd bless her soul) and invest my share in the Shetlands. Already have a love affair with Scotland which started in Edin then moved to Fife but to be further away from the cities and large towns would suit me down to the ground, never thought you'd get anything that cheap anywhere in the UK though, hence the planned move to Bulgaria.

It was offers over £15,000 for the house and £6,000 for the boat shed I think. I like the Scottish way of buying property, sealed bids n all that, adds to the excitement lol

Bloody hell I could buy the house, the shed and a boat to go with it for less than £50,000..... If only I could sell the money pit our Mum left us...
Bout another 2 months work on that to get it properly done up, then who knows how long to actually sell it?

Ah well, beggars can't be choosers, hopefully there'll still be something left to buy on the cheap by then or it's definately off to Bulgaria for me n my lad.

I bought my house on a sealed bid a little over 25 years ago, offers in excess of £18,000, it had been empty for a year beforehand.

I guess that if you have the winning offer then it is dependent on getting a mortgage or loan as a lot of places aren't going to give a wadge of cash for something they haven't dotted the "I's" and crossed the "T's" on.
