Spotted some good, deep, wooden trug boxes which I will pick up next week. At only a fiver each they are a bargain!
Had a mooch around in my local Asian food store - got a 5k bag of Thai jasmine rice for 8 quid, a big tub of red curry paste and same of green curry paste. There's some cracking stuff in there, and it's cheap as chips, so I will go back for some other bits next week.

Just filled my car up (not because of the possible effects of the discussed strikes but it was running on fumes
).
Bought a plum tree and some herbs to start my medicinal herb garden.
Off to fill my greenhouse with seeds ......

Re: What Preps are you doing this week
Just planted 8 gooseberry bushes (Aldi have them on at £2.99) and 50 meters of hedge with a mixture of hawthorne, hazel, hedge rose and a couple of other types of tree whose names I forget.
In general I like to structure my preps so that they contain things that can be activated in a longer term SHTF situation. For example, I am planting way more gooseberrys, currants etc than I need just now. I'll let the birds have most of them. When times get hard, the protective net goes over, and I'll have a large supply.
Similarly the hedge. The hazels in the mix are proper hazel nut trees - they will not produce much if hedged. However, I have noted the locations. If times get hard I'll let the carefully spaced hazel trees grow up through the remainder of the hedge. The roots will be sound and I should have some reasonably productive nut trees on tap (if I should need them) in about 3 to 5 years.
Just my thoughts....
