Which Charity shops

Okay i have just started putting together my bug out bag and supplies so far ive stacked up on things from online like Ebay but it would be cheaper in high street as i wouldn't not have to pay postage

Ive bought plenty of items from the pound shops such as Pound world, Pound land and 99p shop now i want to buy from charity shops.

I want some clothing and books i have never been a big charity shop user so im not sure where to begin. As there seem to be a real difference in charity shops such as Oxfam sell items for more 2nd hand than the items where 1st hand. All the shops i looked seem to be geared towards womens fasion as they all display women clothes in the front windows.

I do realise the money goes to charity but im looking for one that sells to the poor as a charity, rather than the rich and giving the so called profits to the poor.

I want some shops that sell clothing very cheaply and i can pick up a pile of books, can anyone reccomend any charity shops to use?

From my experience you have to regularly visit each and every charity shop to get the bargains and decent stuff.
People who volunteer often have first dibs on the donations.
Also consider the area you live in and maybe visit a more affluent area/town eg Cheltenham would be better quality etc than Gloucester.

However, I have very rarely found anything worth having and I would guess people are donating less now and making their clothes etc last.

I noticed down the town yesterday that one of our bigger shops just down from the marina has 'gone bust' and closed down, comes to something when a charity shop has to close down.

I like the charity shop Debra - in Guildford it always has something worthwhile in it, even if it is just books

Charity shops seem fine for ladies clothes and cooking books but that's about it. Army surplus stores tend to sell "work clothes" as well around here most of which are fairly cheap if you don't want army stuff.

You can get underwear (new lol), undershirt, dickies trousers (new), belt, boots (not issued, good as new), shirt (good as new), jumper(good as new), coat/jacket (good as new) for under £100
