It's far off the path and very hard to get to, and even then they would have a face of with my large family

I reckon you'll be cool mate, unless people 'know' the area as you do, in my experience, one tree looks like any other to most and in a SHTF scenario, (same with my sea fort idea) who the hell is gonna be looking in the woods for food seriously, they'll be looting the towns and living off the 'old world' for months if not years, by which time, you n me both will be well established and fortified. :)

i noticed a lot of moss on the rocks, good for filtering water and butt wipes. Looks a nice quiet place.

What would you be bugging out from that would make you any safer in some woods down the road?! I would think you'd be better off just staying put in your house?

depends on what the event is, but generally speaking you would be better of with walls around you than out in the open/in the woods, especially once the winter arrives.

I may be missing the point but what is the point of bugging out to a location 0.3 miles from your house? As has already been said you may as well stay at home and walk into the woods to collect your goodies as you need them...

I would only bug out if my home was uninhabitable for some reason and if that were the case then I would need to be more than a few hundred yards away.

it could be used in a shtf environment ,
if the house is overrun or a emergency rendezvous. /lookout post[sp]
or even as a wild camp for quiet time/preparation for living wild etc ;)

Essentially if I ever have to bug out, it's my go to location. My intention would be to stay put as long as possible

Has anyone considered their place of work as a bug out location?

The only reason I mention it is that you know the place inside out, dependant on where you work it should be secure and there may be opportunities to stock pile?

Now, I am slightly biased as my office has a bomb shelter in the cellar but I'm just throwing it out there?
