There are plenty of other forums dedicated to zombies and other more 'out there' scenarios, but such topics are not part of the core ethos of UK Preppers. We are about practical prepping for realistic and plausible situations.
Correct, an attack on someone by a drug crazed individual is hardly life in general, but being out of work or feeling the financial pinch is.

This is a prepping forum not a hardship forum. Seems to getting pretty mixed in here of late though!

People prep for many reasons, including redundancy and financial hardship. And, in the current economic climate, it's probably one of the main reasons why more people actually ARE prepping!

And as much as we joke about zombies, aliens and the such like, it is unlikely to be a huge issue. The press call it a zombie attack because that is what sells papers, not a headline that reads man high on drugs attacks another man. Zombies to the plep out there is much more interesting.

If prepping for financial difficulty/redundancy/ill health/ economic instability is not what you are prepping for and you're looking at prepping for zombie or alien attack then maybe this forum isn't for you. ;)

What about prepping for the super monkey bird flu epidemic, it could be similar to a zombie attack masses amount of people infected with no real cure. You would be in a 28 days later situation stay away from the infected or you become one of them, wait it out with non infected until the infected starve to death then you can rebuild . Zombie scenarios do have their place in the prepping world as long as you don't believe in reanimating the dead.

This type of epidemic/pandemic scenario (although I've never heard of 'super monkey bird flu') is not what the thread was about in the first instance. And the posts relating to the man who was attacked in the USA were in poor taste and offensive. Those who enjoy looking at images of people (or animals for that matter) being attacked and mutilated, really should seek professional help.
