Yes I have frozen cheese - but the basic ASDA cheese comes out crumbly after defrosting, Sainsbury's cheese (in the orange and clear pack) has a really great taste and freezes well with no crumbling after defrosting.

I usually vacuum pack mine when using. It lasts a great deal longer almost 2 months with no mould or anything

Long term storage the only way to go is to wax it as mentioned above.

There is also another option of tinned cheese - napolina does tinned cheese sold in a case of 12 for £11.54 by Shorters Club http://www.shortersclub.co.uk/ . ASDA /SAINSBURYS sell it for £1.75 per tin

Hi D lil / selfsufficientwoman, don't think this is actually tinned but the plastic tubs of grated/powdered hard cheese, easy mistake though. Could be wrong but got some that looks same.

I've been looking for tinned cheese and butter in uk but unable to find any but now available in EU, but did find whole powdered milk last year, Called Nido available in tesco's in small tins or larger tins online.

Hi it is tinned cheese by Napolina - if you go on the shorters website link and type in Napolina you will see the product.

Shorters also do a 2kg bag of skimmed mil for £8.49 (last time I purchased) and they do a bulk pack as well I think of 2/4

Last time I checked they had opposite the pasta aisle - but they - Sainsburys /ASDA keep moving the isles around. I can't even find it in ASDA anymore with the re-arranging of their aisles.

But again look at shorters club and as above type in Napolina its and its on the 3rd/4th page

Thanks for pointing this out

I got mine in a tin when purchased - not purchased the bulk pack from Shorters as always want to know what these things take like before buying in bulk

Conserva.de do 'proper' tinned cheese and margerine and seem to have reasonable shipping within EU. I'm sure someone else posted on here that they have used them before...

I've used Conserva de on a few occasions - and have their tinned cheese - its basically the same as laughing cow cheese - its edible. I like them for the powdered milk as it comes already nitrogen packed in mylar. NOT tried the milk though (not wasting something already packed for long term storage). The customer service is excellent - delivery is surprisingly fast, about 4 days is the longest I have waited. BTW (and off topic sorry) the best powdered milk I've found is Lidle ALCAFE £1.59 - made up with just a little coffee whitener added is the closest to real milk I have found - its actually drinkable - total convert from Nestle Nido - and half the price 8-)
