Well if you only have one fire and can't for some reason get dry firewood, or process it so it will burn, then I'd go out shoot as many pidgins and rabbits as I can and hot smoke them, so I at least have food for the next week which does not require expelling calories.

Smoking just-caught food is a great idea ... but if its just one tiny campfire, I'd also be eating cold beans, half a packet of ready made long life tofu mixed in, and a little pan of water on the campfire for a cuppa tea :)

The electricity was off when I woke up last Wednesday. I checked to see if I had paid the bill, yes. Checked the control box, nothing wrong there either. Started looking for my gas stove, and all of a sudden I heard the fridge come back on. If I didn't have the gas stove I would light up the fire place I have in the garden.

If I was out in a desperate situation I would chew handfuls of grass and spit the fibrous bits out. I grow wheatgrass and have a manual juicer, maybe I should buy an extra juicer for the BOB. I was on a raw diet for two years (not raw vegan), so wouldn't mind eating anything raw, I've eaten raw beef, pork, fish, you get used to it.
