Just brought this addition to my trauma pack, a great emergency oxygen (hence the name emOx ) supply, ideal in hazardous environments where a compressed cylinder can be a problem, great for traveling too as it safe to take on a plane, light weight too just add tap water. This should be a basic item for any ones med supplies. step away from the computer and get yourself on a course and learn more.
Should work very well if you have it when you need it but do they really let you take Sodium Percarbonate, a hazard 5.1 oxidiser, on a plane in just those containers?
How much actual Oxygen does each phial produce over its 15 minutes? Enough to supply 100% Oxygen or just enriched air.
I played with Peroxides and Percarbonates a long while ago for long duration military diving equipment but it proved impossible to prevent the diver inhaling the chemicals. Worked OK for submarines though.
" This should be a basic item for any ones med supplies" I don't agree.........
I can see this product could be useful in certain situations. However not sure its appropriate as a general UK prep ? Depending on the scenario of course even with a set of refills its only giving you 3l/min for 90 minutes. Then what ? If you have an airway / breathing problem you are often going to need at least 6l min and often 15/l minute and rapid evacuation to a functioning hospital.
