No dig at you Arzosah but this is where I disagree with all that 'grey man' stuff.

Obviously if you'd just walked over and started 'mouthing' at them, especially if you'd nothing to back it up with, they'd have probably marked you out as a nob-head.

On the other hand, get a grip, it's just kids messing about...things I used to get up to at that age...go over and have a chat, friendly like, take an interest, chances are you'll walk away leaving them thinking 'ah he's sound'
I'm a girl  ... mind you, so were they

Totally get what you're saying about it just being kids messing about - I finished reading Last Light yesterday, thats my only excuse :) tho seriously, the issue is really that *all* the kids do it, for months of the year, they'll be at it now, every now and again, till the last fruit rots on the tree. I do connect with the kids whenever I can, but the moment wasn't right today, I was jarred from seeing the waste and destructiveness. Hey ho - you're right, though, it'd be good to connect like that.

Triple sod (love the name!) I reckon you might be right about that - I didn't expect that at all, but seems to be true.

Me and Brother have decided we are, for a year, going to do a free dinner a week. Whatever we can catch, kill or forage. Also my garden counts, as most of the seed is saved and I have alot of perennials.

Tonight it's a cock Partridge, braised in a red wine sauce( ok the wine did not come from the woods) i found some horse mushrooms, so they will get bunged in. New spuds from me garden and some field beans I nabbed. As I write it smells lovely. The rest of ' em are getting a takeaway!
