Hello everybody.
I'm from south wales and a family man.My preps lean towards bugging in in the event of major disruption rather than bugging out.I feel that bugging out is a last resort only to be taken when you have no intention or will be unable to ever return home.Having a family means that I can't transport enough to ensure a healthy and safe life for us all.I do have a bug out location that is well stocked and far from civilisation, also it is safe which was my main consideration in picking it.At present the veg plot is doing well but really does need to be tended at least every second day.The water supply is already in place as is the filtration system.I will be looking at livestock when the need arises but don't have any at present.
The accommodation is a solid structure and we use it as a summer retreat when the kids are off school. So far we have stayed at the site for 2 months without having to leave or be seen. The only things we missed was the ability to eat whatever we wanted whenever we wanted. We rationed the food as if it was the only food we were able to get without growing it ourselves. We managed well. This winter we intend to have 2 months there again to test for winter abilities.
I am here to learn what ever people are willing to pass on and will pass on anything that you think may be useful on a prepping site.
I am also well versed in the solo outdoor life, from ultra high tech backpacking right through to living off the land.
See you all around.

Hello and welcome to the forum
Your bug out location sounds like somewhere I could live all year round. Well done for having it in place.
But as you said, most of us are planning to bug in and our preps reflect that.

Welcome tdg!
It sounds like you have a really good foundation in prepping already and, like Su said, am loving the sound of the bug out location. Same as you both, I'm planning on bugging in - I couldnt carry enough chocolate to support my wife for more than 12 hours...

Re: New here.
Hi there and welcome!
I'm also hoping for a bug in as our worst case scenario.
