Re: What Preps are you doing this week
I bought some first aid stuff this week. Israeli pressure bandages, tubes of eyewash (that can be used to wash wounds) and shears.

Just salted MORE runner beans. We now have 2x 1 gallon buckets with them. Done this for a year or two now, as I HATE frozen ones. You just have to soak and change the water a coupla times. Some nice stuff coming from the garden today- but I am losing the battle against caterpillars!
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Returned some bits to my EDC drawstring sack that I'd taken out for the summer - some winter bits including mylar blanket, hand warmers and so on. Have also included my smallest Geiger counter as it's very light.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week
Planted a bed of sorrel and another of buckshorn plantain. These are a hardy perennial and biennial that provide a nice salad in the good times and essential vitamins in the bad. The buckshorn appear to be setting quite a bit of seed so in due course I'll be harvesting that to ensure a supply for next year.
I also went around the garden carefully checking which flowers the bees like and flagging those late blooming flowers by tying coloured ribbons around them. When the seeds are ready I will collect them and plant a lot more for next year. The reason for this is that typically bees run low on food sources heading into autumn and yet still have a large colony to maintain. If I can provide a food supply then I will not have to feed them (or at least not as much) and hopefully they will make it through the winter in a much stronger condition.
