Great article from Alys Fowler on the Guardian website today http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/ ... ound-cover about, yes, edible ground cover, using perennials. Since they're not all terribly common, they could easily go in a front garden without anyone local being any the wiser. And a few are mentioned in James Wong's book, Grow Your Own Drugs.

The main two points are excellent, the pondweed and the dead hedging (which also has good security potential, I *think*. And both ideas fit with the permaculture concept of finding opportunities to use your waste and creating a closed circle.

On Wartime Farm last week they showed a leaflet about seasonal growing and information to make sure they had veg all year round. After the disastrous growing this year I thought it would be a good idea to try this next year.
