Hiya Buttystella, wouldn't say it's economical at present. I think while you're building up your hives and buying tools etc, you're spending out without getting the rewards. But I suppose it's the same if you're buying tools and fencing and seeds to set up & plant a veg patch, until you have a few harvests under your belt and you've gained growing skills & experience, you wouldn't say that was economical either!
