As for your flat look at diffrent places to store things if you have a sofa think of storeing under the seating area the gaps around a bath are good places some doors are hollow and you can put things in them. You tube is a good place to look for storage idears just think outside the box not in it.
Fruit and veg become an urban gorilla and go out at night and plant veg in strange places hope this helps to give you some idears :)
Brilliant, I do have space in my sofas, in fact the damn things have a zip at the back, it is as though they are purpose built, thank you because I had not thought of that.

The urban gorilla bit is great also and had a post from :

Hi
Would you be planning to raid a couple of Tesco or Asdas on your way to B&Q? Because your week or months supply of food would run out
then you would have to go looking for supplies only to find out you had been beaten to it or the sheeple had set fire to the shops.

B&Q stores are little more than prefabs and somthing big would soon smash through the thin walls .

I have followed this one since the start. Two things that occur to me.

1. Taking over/looting/openly raiding call it what you will. Will likely get you killed.
2. Went shopping in B and Q today. They've got p*ss all worth buying-let alone nicking!!!
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

I agree with jansman.

If you havent got anywhere to go then personally I would look for somewhere a lot less high profile than a B&Q, like Jansman said, going down that route is an easy way to get yourself killed or injured.

There are thousands of disused buildings around, it might be better to make a list of them, go check a few out and maybe hide a few preps there rather than put yourself into the middle of a riot at the local retail park

I think MickyP's suggestion of deserted buildings is a good one - and when you're scouting around in the next few months, there'll be no one to ask you what the dickens you're doing :)

Google Earth/ Maps are your friend too. :)

For example,

Disused Army base, most buildings demolished but still fenced and underground tunnels intact:
