Grow your own sugar free sweetener

Post by nickdutch »

I have just seen this video that explains that you can use dried stevia leaves in your tea as a sweetener

Apparently you can buy stevia seeds in the UK thus meaning that silly billies who have a low sugar diet like me can potentially grow some of their sweeteners!!

In Asian countries, Stevia leaves are often used to replace sugar.
I've already tried it, it doesn't have the same taste but I'd say it's definitely healthier than ordinary sugar. I think you can grow Stevia at home but you have to dry them first and extract the water before using them.
