Just got this delivered today from EvaQ8 and have been desperate for it to get dark so that I could test it. Yes, like a big kid.
I hate using internet parlance, but I'm afraind I have to say it...OMG!
This thing runs off two AA batteries (supplied) and basically lit up my entire back garden! Even on the lowest intensity setting (of 3) it was still brighter than the brightest of my other torches, which are, granted, of the pocket variety. One really good thing is it will work off just one battery, so you can reverse the other and keep it as a spare although they state that it will run for 5 hours on one set of two.
It also has a red, blue and green LED as well as an ultra violet one. It feels nice and heavy and although I haven't tested their claim, it's supposed to withstand a 3m drop as well as being water proof to about 1m. It has a swivel head to, so you can stand it on a surface and point the beam towards whatever you're doing.
The only thing that's missing is a strobe facility.
It ain't the cheapest torch, but it will now be my first port of call!

Re: Torch - Energizer Night Strike
Price I'm seeing it go for is £45, I'm not saying its not a good torch but £45 is a lot for something from Energizer. For the money you can get a Fenix E40 which is 220 lumens and has modes and is made of metal, plus waterproof or a Jetbeam BC20 which is 305 lumens, has modes and is waterproof.Bradthunder wrote:Just got this delivered today from EvaQ8 and have been desperate for it to get dark so that I could test it. Re: Torch - Energizer Night Strike
I purchased 2 torches from ebay that are really really good and i keep one in the car and at home at all times, the battery life is superb.
It by a company called Ultrafire and it what some military personals use to mount to the ends of there tactical riffles, There both water proof and are made from hight grade air craft aluminium
There is no bulb or led but has a small gel like square and it sper bright, 3 modes high, medium, low then you have SOS and strobe simply by half pressing the power botton.
It dont take your regular AA or AAA but takes a Size just bigger then AA and there rechargeable, I aint charged mine now in over 3 months and its still kicking strong as if it was fully charged, I only paid £20 i think? and the battery and charger was around £10
1 of my torches is 300 lumens in power and on a non foggy night when turned on at night you can see a beam of light when aiming into the clouds and my other is 1300 lumens of power.
I would highly recommend this product, Ultra fire are a good make and there really solid.
