Hi all from Middlesex :o)

Post by everyday-carry »

Hi all, new to the forum, but not new to the subject :o)

At 31, I've never called myself a prepper, just someone who is self sufficient. I hope to meet serious like minded people on this forum who I can exchange ideas and have a laugh with.

I'm called everyday-carry (EDC) becasue that is my ethos, my way of life. I like having handy things on my person. I never leave the house without my keys (which have a torch, tiny SAK, and a pen) and if I have a bag, my first aid kit. While we're on the subject of FAK's, I meet a lot of people who have fancy first aid kits, ranging from £25 to £250+ and most of them haven't a clue about using it ! I'm due to take my advanced refresher next year so maybe we could do a group course?

I'm only a beginner when it comes to Ham radio, but I've grown up using CB's, I'll be doing my Ham foundation licence early next year. I am very interested in the Prepper Network (Middlesex?). I have a pair of long range radios, but I only get a few miles range out of them in the open. My pair of 5 watt Mitexs get more range (25km) but the frequencies are too limited. Thats why I would like to get a Ham radio and chat to the world !

My flaw right now is my lack of driving licence and vehicle, I am currently taking lessons to correct this skill gap.
Really pleased to meet you all, :tinfoil -> I'm using the guy with a coat hanger, because as all good preppers know, a wire coat hanger has infinite uses ! (up there with duct tape and paracord!)

Rgds,
EDC

Hello and welcome to the Forum. :)
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.
