just bought two bags of barley ! which probably doesnt sound that odd, but i havnt eaten it since school, which now seems a long long time ago !! also bought flour and yesterday in kent wool growers farm shop, bought a fenn trap and 800 rounds of ammunition . heres a controversial thought do you think ammunition will be the currency of the year ? :P

What will you be using the barley for and how will you store it?

hi sue, im not sure really. I just remember it being in school dinnners and liking how it thickened the stews and casseroles which we had with monotonous regularity.
i suppose it was an impulse buy but im sure someone on here will tell me what i should do with it

I'm guessing you got pearl barley?

I only really use it in home made soups. With some stock, left over meat, some greens leaves and a handful of barley you have a great lunch.

For stews I prefer broth mix, which does have barley in it as well as some split peas, lentils and dehydrated veg.
